Amazing New Year's Card from UTM artist Prickly Succulent. Prick really captures the Cherokee Spirit with this picture of Japanese Shinto Shrine in a rented flat in a Tokyo Slum. Many fake musicians make shrines to themselves and worship themselves. One such fake musician, Marc Lowe, is a shining example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. His overestimation of his ability due to his lack of meta-cognitive skills. If you listen to him, he will tell you he is better than David Bowie, despite having accomplished nothing. He is unable to realize the sharp qualitative difference between his horrific musical performance in comparison to those of established musicians who actually possess skill sets and natural talent.
The way Prickly Succulent is able to capture this on paper in a simple caricature is no surprise really. Some people are just perfect at starring in their own dark comedies and provide the world with heaps of laughs. Prick will showcase this and other Marc Lowe Art at his stagecoach Tour of The Americas in 2022. Enjoy.
