Uri Tenpo Productions presents: 

Marc Lowe - Abbey Lowe a TMLP ( The Marc Lowe Point ) parody tribute of fake musician Marc Lowe and horrible real musicians The Beatles. The album art was sketched by sketchy character and sketch artist Prickly Succulent. It kind of resembles The Beatles album art on Abbey Road but it kind of doesn't, too.

 "There’s Marc Lowe music, there’s music, there’s The Beatles and then there’s this. Its listed as a cover, if it means it wants me to cover my massive body with its sounds, then I’ll do it. A clearly disrespectful disdain for the original song is evident here, but that’s the beauty of this music. Other “artists” cover songs and they become cheap imitations or tributes (in some cases i.e. Marc Lowe, with his cover of pretty much any song by anybody—cheap is too generous a word—let’s face it he sucks donkey balls). TMLP, though walks the very fine line of parody—I’d describe it as musical satire, a sub genre unto itself that appeals to those who are sick and tired of bad music (let’s circle back to Marc Lowe) or those who are simply sick and tired of being sick and tired. Of course you may disagree with me, but that’s because you’re a closet Marc Lowe fan and have no taste."

Meet the newest member of the Uri Tenpo Movement,

Senor Placebo Domingo.

Not much is known about Mr. Domingo except that he was a classically trained tenor and is an excellent music critic.  He recently took time out of his busy opera schedule to review some particularly horrid cover versions of Jeff Buckley and David Bowie.  His review can be seen on the video channel that promotes love and peace---YouTube:

User submitted gem of music so bad it's good! The Internet has spoken!

The comment below (and several others) on Reddit pretty much sum up just how bad this Marc Lowe cover version of Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U. Check out the Reddit thread's comments below this comment for more enjoyment of music so bad it's good!  According to the reviewer, it looks like we need to check out "More" and "The Staircase" as well.  Should be good for a laugh or two.

Oh, no. No no no. I'm sorry, but I can't sugarcoat this. I listened to a couple of your other songs. I couldn't make it much past the two minute mark with this one. The slow, disjointed piano intro was drawn out like Chinese Water Torture. Then your strained vocals kicked in, with no discernible melody, and I had to close the browser window. The mix of your extremely forced and affected vibrato, singing in a different key than the instrumental, and then layering an even more pitchy vocal track over that resulted in what sounded like a warped record playing on an old phonograph, through an industrial-sized fan. This is a bad sound. This song in particular affected me physically, to the point that I had to stop playback. I'm not being dramatic when I say it literally caused me to feel uneasy and anxious. I don't think I've had that happen to that extent, before. I was able to power through The Staircase and More just before this one, even though those were stylistically similar and I found them uncomfortable to listen to. It was quite unsettling, and may have set the mood for my aversion to your "Nothing Compares 2 U" cover. The videos did not help. I watched The Staircase out of morbid curiosity, thinking it was going to end with you flinging yourself down the stairs, and that this was a song about suicide, all along. I've seen you brag about how many albums you put out; you shouldn't be proud of this. You rushed to release a dreadful catalog of music. You are not comparable to Bowie or Radiohead. They are (or were) polished, seasoned musicians. Be humble, check the ego, and accept that you surely could have done better than this, had you just put in the time. And, no, I assure you this isn't part of a "smear campaign", and, yes, I do know what I'm talking about.

It currently has 184 views and 254 dislikes on YouTube.  How is that even possible?  Perhaps Leonard's deceased fans gave this cover some thumbs down?  Or maybe it just stinks that bad...  You be the judge, to each his own.  Some might claim that the 4 likes it has are from SPAM accounts.  Those pesky folks at Hormel are very diabolical after all.  The upload itself might be SPAM as it does not appear to be on an official Marc Lowe, This Dark Shroud, or Dark Shroud Records channel.  It also does not appear to be on an official TMLP, The Marc Lowe Point, DJ JOV, Fukuoka Luxury, Uri Tenpo Movement, or Bowel Movement channel.  It might be from Bizarro World!

To his credit, Robin Gibb could sing in tune and did not need studio help to sound presentable on a record.  He was also fine live.

But, this song stunk when The Beatles did it.  All those silly Bee Gees did was to savagely re-brand it as fresh manure.

Marc Lowe CD Cover Proposal

On this splendid 1th of April we received a lovely and well choreographed album cover artistic submission.  Cherokee artist and Photoshop guru, the esteemed Mr. Prickly Succulent,  proposes the following image for a future Marc Lowe CD.  Perhaps he will approve it and honour the submitter in the lineage notes of his next hit album?  The image is titled “The Moon Sailors Are Seasick Of Music So Bad It’s Good And Cumposed In Ten Minutes Smoking Peace Pipe On The Reservation For A Table Of One”.  It is translated from old Cherokee language, which is verbose yet stunningly succinct.  If image is not selected perhaps an art gallery will display it and other of Prickly Succulent’s artworks?  That would be very fine.

Soft Cell's terrible cover of Black Sabbath's Paranoid - So bad IT'S GOOD!

This is a gem!  Marc Almond and Dave Ball never disappoint.  Even when they stink the joint up with cheap-ass crap like this horrible Ozzy Osbourne song; Black Sabbath - Paranoid.  They had to be taking the piss.  Give it a listen.  It will definitely make you laugh.
